Weekend Picks: Last Chance For Center City Restaurant Week, New Exhibit On The Rocky Steps And More

Philly, get excited for a winter weekend full of both indoor and outdoor fun.

Friday is the very last chance to grab a table for the winter edition of Center City District Restaurant Week. Food and drink events elsewhere appeal to beer lovers (Founders Philly Freeze-Out in Manayunk, Belgium Comes to West Chester) and chocolate lovers (Kennett Chocolate Lovers Festival) alike.

There’s no shortage of incredible arts events around the city as well. Highlights include the new STAND installation on the famous Rocky Steps, performances of the Percy Jackson musical, the Women’s Mobile Museum and Martha Graham Dance Company’s commemoration of the women’s suffrage movement on stage.

Those looking to fill up the entire weekend can check out the immersive dinosaur-themed Jurassic Quest event at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, and the final days of the Lambertville-New Hope Winter Festival in the two charming Delaware River waterfront towns. And seasonal favorites Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest and Winter at Dilworth Park are open all weekend long, too, for ice skating and lodge lounging.

Note that due to the federal government shutdown, attractions in Independence National Historical Park — including The Liberty Bell Center and Independence Hall — are closed. Many other attractions in Philadelphia’s Historic District are open regular hours. Click here for more info.
