25 Terrific Things To Do In Philly, March 18-24

The sun’s out longer, trees are blooming and temps are rising — it’s official: Spring arrives in Philadelphia this week!

Visitors and residents alike can get outside and enjoy the fresh spring air at the beautiful Shofuso Japanese House and Garden in Fairmount Park, which hosts an opening celebration this weekend to kick off its 61st season.

Another beautiful outdoor attraction — Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens — hosts a birthday party on Monday for its famed creator, mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar. Attendees can admire the intricate mosaic works and even enter a raffle to win a piece of art to take home.

Indoors over at The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, Dinos After Dark returns with awesome after-hours activities, pay-what-you-wish admission and a beer garden in the museum’s impressive Dinosaur Hall.

Also on tap this week: a spelling competition at a Naked Brewing Company, three Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus performances at International House Philadelphia and the final days of Orchid Extravaganza at Longwood Gardens.
