Calling all foodies, nature lovers, sports fans, film buffs and beer enthusiasts — there’s a ton of fun to be had in Philly this week.
The vibrant Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia continues this week! The fest culminates with Sakura Sunday, a day-long celebration of Japanese culture, music, dance and food. The event attracts major crowds to the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center, where the lush landscape’s many Japanese cherry trees are expected to be in peak bloom.
Another big spring event, the Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival, brings a huge — and hungry! — crowd to the Northwest Philly neighborhood on Sunday. Visitors can chow down on burgers, barbecue, cannoli, tacos, pizza, dumplings and more delicious specialties.
And it’s a big week for sports fans, as the Philadelphia 76ers wrap up their impressive season on Wednesday and move on to the NBA playoffs, which start on Saturday.
Also this week: The hotly anticipated Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes exhibit opens at The Franklin Institute, the campy GayBINGO! game night returns to Congregation Rodeph Shalom and the 11th annual Real Ale Invitational attracts thirsty guests to Yards Brewing Company.
